MEET THE ARTIST

Jaadyn Rogers, originally from Long Island, New York, is a creator who has developed their artistic skills from a young age. Taking an interest in dance at the tender age of three, performing and being immersed in the world of theater has been their path, a developed skill and moreover, a deep passion for them. Their passion for the arts persisted as their curiosity flourished and they soon set their sights on the mechanics and inner-workings behind the scenes where they first began to work as stage manager for various theatrical productions.

In 2017, Jaadyn had the opportunity to travel to Kampala, Uganda to further learn the fundamentals of East African dancing, taking them further into an appreciation for spreading knowledge of culture through physical and verbal storytelling. Through it all, Jaadyn has never shied away from any aspect of the arts.

Their love of community has moved them to take on complex roles in various projects including conceptual photography and administrative roles in creative productions. Jaadyn is a recent graduate at Howard University, obtaining a B.F.A in Theatre Arts Administration. By the investment of learning values of African American efforts within live-theater, Jaadyn has a solid backing of understanding the importance of representation with conviction. Following this, Jaadyn received the opportunity to travel back to Africa, serving as a documentarian for a dance collaboration experience with dancers from New York to learn West African dance first-hand in Dakar, Senegal in July of 2023. Their mission is to use their skills and talents to curate creative visions meant to challenge and inform all viewers, in hopes of leaving a perennial mark.
